Rained out in Silverlake.
My trip to the Silver Lake Art Craft & Vintage market was a bust today. I think the storm scared most of the LA back inside and left only a few tempting signs and a lonely Kogi truck with only a handful of customers where a wonderful flea market should have been. GhettoGloss art gallery hosted the original market at Sunset Blvd x Glendale Blvd in 2008 & 2009 and curated the vendor list themselves. They picked up a fresh new location for 2010 at Silver Lake’s Micheltorena Street Elementary School (at Sunset just past Silver Lake Blvd) and i’ve read that a portion of the proceeds go back to the school, which is delightful to hear. A bust today, but I’ll be back next month – rain or shine.
