Here comes the Fall, which isn’t really fair because we didn’t get much of a summer at all yet here in LA. But with Fall approaching we’re starting to see some lovely new and old Fall coat trends appearing on my favorite sites and blogs. The cape is one of those lovely old trends that’s reemerging for 2010. Most of the capes are featured are in dark and neutral tones (black, gray, navy and beige – or “dirty martini” as Marc Jacobs is calling it these days.) But it doesn’t stop there! Check out some vintage capes that are going to give you a little more color, textures and character.

Here’s a little visual on the evolution of the Cape, that emerged from the Cloak trend of the 16th & 17th Centuries for both sexes.
